At least once in our lives, we've all had a dream.

A dream so intense and pleasant that all we wanted to do was : to go back to sleep the next day so that we could continue or repeat it. In usually without success.

But what if there were techniques available today to help you control your dreams at night?

The Palais des Congrès is honored to welcome Stéphane Carapelle.

Stéphane Carapelle, a physiotherapist from the University of Liège, who specializes in states of consciousness. In preparation for a doctoral thesis, one of his one of his areas of expertise is a particular type of dream: lucid dreams!

Lucid dreaming is dreaming in which we are aware that we are dreaming!

Unlike dreams in general, where we don't know that we're dreaming, even if it doesn't make sense. In these dreams, it's possible to control the dream, its environment and everything in it exactly as we want, just like in the film Inception. Although it may seem impossible and unreal, this type of dream was scientifically proven in 1981 at Stanford University. Since then, although still little known to the general public, it has attracted more and more researchers, as well as successful entrepreneurs and top athletes.

A meta-analysis of 34 studies carried out over 50 years showed that 55% of the population have had at least one lucid dream in their lifetime. While 55% of people have lucid dreams, we now know that anyone can have one, thanks to techniques that help to induce lucid dreaming.

In addition to learning more about lucid dreaming, at this conference you'll learn these different techniques so you can have your first lucid dream.

In addition, other topics such as sleep paralysis, nightmares and recurring dreams will be discussed.

Stéphane Carapelle is followed by 150,000 people on social networks, and is a guest speaker on various media such as France 3 and NRJ.
